~On the 31st October, Day-Night bicycle ride, 204 km journey of Wardha_Nagpur_Wardha. The burning desires to chase the goal, however, checking the strength of myself. The journey was awesome, consisting of ups and downs, in a bad environmental condition.
The journey began from home, early morning at 6 am, however, the bicycle was not up to the mark for 200 km ride. Even no idea how to manage the first-ever 200 km ride. So, I called Kishor sir, he is an experienced rider. I asked him, "please let me know what kind of basic precautions should I take ?". He replied beautifully to all the things, even he offered me his bicycle to chase the 200 km ride.
Having a 10-gears bicycle really boosts my confidence, however, it helps me to speed up the ride up to 40 km per hour. I started my mp3 playing list and the journey began. I knew that playing my favourite song would definitely help me, it kept me away from negativity and overthinking.
The first drink break was in Selu village. The atmosphere of the village was awesome, filled with pure oxygenated air and the smell of cow dung; some ladies were preparing cow dung 'Gavari'. Subsequently, the second drink break was in Butibori. The temperature was high, due to the industrial area. The atmosphere was very filthy and air pollution was too high. The third drink break was in the IT park, Manav Seva Nagar, Nagpur. I called Ankit, he was my Engineering batchmate.
I had lunch at his resident and after a small meeting, I went to Naglok, It's a Buddhist centre. Due to Pandemic, the Naglok was closed but still, I clicked some pics from the main gate and came back to Ankit’s hotel. I ate snacks and started riding towards Wardha at 5pm.
Meanwhile, on the journey, I got a call from Shilpa Bodile, she is a dear friend of mine, based in Nagpur. I talked with her for around 20 minutes while riding the bicycle. She was conscious that if in case I met with an accident, she might be getting in trouble by call history. So, keeping this in mind, after a while, I cut the call. At the very moment, I saw a picture, on the side of the road, which indicated that "your heartbeats are more important than a mobile ring". I clicked a photo and sent it to Shilpa. During this photo session, my bicycle got punctured near the flyover at Butibori.
Unfortunately, I did not get any garage and I walked 5 km (30 minutes) to get to the shop. I met one shop but the owner was missing and then I walked 1 km, near the Butibori square. Finally, I got a garage, where I repaired my bicycle. I was delighted and suddenly I smelled samosa's Khushboo, I went there and ate 1 plate of samosa and notably my brain was working fast. So far I have covered only 130 km distance. Then at 8 pm, I returned from Butibori square. I met one truck driver, he requested me to join with him by his truck at Selu village, but I declined that because I don’t want to cheat myself.
At 10.30 pm, I reached Pavnar. So far, I have completed 170 km ride, I supposed to cover 200 km. I made one plan, I went to Sawangi bypass and now I completed 180 km distance, still, 20 km remained. I saw one omelette shop at 11.20pm. I was very pleased at that time. I ate an omelette with green chatani, it was a superb feeling, cold air was going on and I was eating a hot omelette while listening to Bob Marley's song and it was a miraculous feeling.
Again I went to Pavnar and came back to Sawangi Bypass and I accomplished the 204 km ride till 11.59 pm and at the same time, all over I covered 1241 km bicycle ride in October month.
This was my first ever 200 km ride, It will be a special memory for me. However, the journey had many ups and downs, which taught me a lot, to stay consistent with your dream and never lose hope.
Special thanks to Kishor wankhede sir, Ankit Jaiswal.
